John Singer (attorney)

John Singer (born July 21, 1967) is an American lawyer, known as a Wall Street Employment and Securities attorney. He has appeared frequently on CNBC, MSNBC, the Fox Business Network, NBC's Today Show, ABC's Good Morning America, CNN, PBS, Yahoo Finance, Bloomberg Television, and NPR as a legal analyst and commentator.
Singer's primary area of concentration is representing investment bankers, traders, portfolio managers, financial advisors, and other senior securities/commodities professionals nationwide in FINRA Arbitrations against investment banks & broker-dealers. Singer also represents hedge fund and private equity professionals in areas running the gamut from negotiating separations/terms of employment to litigation emanating from contested departures. Singer also represents securities and commodities professionals nationwide in a full coterie of regulatory matters involving FINRA, the SEC, the CFTC, and various other regulatory bodies with respect to issues ranging from market-timing, late-day trading, front-running and unauthorized, outside business activities to sales-practices issues (unsuitability and churning), forgery, and insider trading. In addition, Singer negotiates multi-million dollar (and other) employment agreements and separation/severance agreements for his clients.
Singer also represents high-profile individuals in the entertainment industry including, but not limited to, senior record label executives, music managers, television producers, models, actresses, television personalities, and world renowned authors, as well as high-profile individuals in other industries, in connection with employment disputes with their former employers, contract negotiations, and commercial litigation disputes.
Singer also represents individual investors nationwide in diverse, complex matters against investment banks, brokerage firms, hedge funds, financial planners, and investment advisors emanating from investment-related losses. These matters typically involve unsuitable investing, breaches of fiduciary duties, negligence, churning, material misrepresentations, unauthorized trading, material omissions, failures to supervise, blue-sky violations, and fraud. Singer represents these individual investors nationwide in FINRA, NFA, AAA, and JAMS Arbitrations.

Singer started his legal career at Rosenman & Colin LLP in New York (now, Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP) following graduation from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1992.
